World Port Picture Exhibition

2.  Exhibition Date:   

     Thursday, August 1 - Wednesday, August 7, 2002

   10:00 am - 5:00 pm

        The exhibition will be closed on Monday, August 5.

        The last day of the exhibition is 10:00 - 4:00pm.

3.  Exhibition Place:    

     Yokkaichi-shi Bunka Kaikan, The 1st Exhibition Hall

     (Yokkaichi Municipal Culture Hall)

4.  Entrance Fee: Free

 

Contest

1.  Theme:

      "Sea" or "Port" (Works that have been entered in a contest will not be accepted.)

2.  Applicants' Qualification:

      elementary school students, junior high school students, senior high school students and

      adults (including college students) of:

       any nationality

       professional or amateur

3.  Participation Fee:

      Free (one picture per person)

4.       How to apply:

      Glue the Application Form to the picture and take/send it to the venue. 

5.       Painting materials: 

      Oil Paintings, Crayon, pastel, water paintings and drawing

6.  Size: for canvas...size 10 (ex. S10, F10, etc.)

        : for paper...smaller than 54cm x 39cm

7.  Front glass  Acrylic is allowed but glass is NOT        

8.      Picture Frames

      Frames need two hooks on the back two top corners.

9.  Prizes:

      3rd Prize                 Certificate and Prize Money

 10.  Judging:

         Announcement of the winner:

       July 25, 2002 (subject to change)

       After serious consideration, an announcement of the winners will be made in the newspapers.  We will also directly inform the winners of the results.

         Judges:

       Chief judge: Kenkichi Sugimoto (Master Painter)

       Other judges: famous painter, Art Critic, Professor, Representative from Yokkaichi

              Cultural Association, Superintendent and others

         Presentation of the prizes

       Date: Saturday, August 3, 2002

       Place: Yokkaichi-shi Bunka Kaikan, 3rd Hall

 

Applicants are responsible for submitting and removing of pictures.

 

Submitting the Pictures

1.  Period of submission:

       From abroad Monday, July 1 - Saturday, July 20, 2002

       From Japan: Wednesday, July 10 - Saturday, July 20, 2002

2.  Methods of delivery:

       Bring in the picture yourself

       By mail (Yamato Unyu, Japanese home delivery service, has a special "Art Box".)

3.  Time to be delivered

        10:00am - 4:00pm (accepted on Sundays and national holidays as well)

4.  Security of the work:

        Though your work will be handled with care, the sponsor will not be responsible for any damage to your work.  We strongly advise you to have your work insured when you send it.

 Notice:

The frame should be strong enough for transportation, judging and exhibition.

The sponsor is NOT responsible for damage caused by transporting the pictures.

Unless the Application Form is filled out properly, the picture will not be qualified to be judged.

The copyright of the winning pictures is owned by the sponsor.

Pictures that arrive after the deadline will not be judged in the contest.

Removal of the Pictures

1.       Period of removal

       Personal removal of your pictures:

   On Thursday, August 8, 2002, 6:30pm - 8:00pm   At Yokkaichi-shi Bunka Kaikan

          On Friday, August 9 - Saturday, August 10, 10:00am - 4:00pm  At Naya Gakushu Center

       Mailing:

          For those who need the pictures back, we will mail them back to you, but you are

          responsible for shipping costs. (COD)
